We are pleased to announce that the Schools ICT entry into the 2017 Innovation Awards was awarded a commended certificate.
The entry “A New Revenue Stream – The MIS framework - Listening to schools and adapting to a changing playing field” was one of three shortlisted in the prestige Chief Executive’s choice commercial award.
This category demonstrates “ideas or developments which have been identified and introduced by an individual or a team, to support the council’s commercial plans or portfolio.”
Schools ICT are hosting the first of what hopefully be regular Bromcom Schools User Group Meetings. This is to be held on Tuesday 14th November 10:00 – 12:00 at County Hall, Northallerton, DL7 8SB.
Bromcom will be giving all the software news and presentations but a representative from Schools ICT will also be present.
The agenda for the session is as follows:
Beginning next week, our server providers will be performing routine security updates to our Cloud Servers. These security updates are necessary to ensure our servers are protected from known security vulnerabilities. This means our servers will experience downtime whilst these updates are performed, downtime is estimated to be 1 hour or less. This will mean, if hosting a website with us, the site will be offline during this time.
Unfortunately it is not possible for us to give you an exact timeframe when the necessary security updates will be applied. This will only be determined by our supplier immediately before the update. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Over the course of the summer, we upgraded our servers. You may have noticed that, if you are accessing your website login via a bookmarked link in your browser, that you encounter a security certificate error and may in some cases be unable to proceed.
How do I access my website now?
It is critical that schools consider the safety of confidential and/or personal data held in electronic or paper formats that are used both on and off the school site.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation it will become critical that ALL staff and governors are aware of how to handle sensitive and/or personal information, and what their responsibilities are when storing, accessing and using data. Under this new legislation there is also a requirement to maintain documented evidence of your awareness and governance..
