This course will cover the activities necessary to effectively manage the curriculum arrangements for a new academic year, including the assignment of students to classes and production of student timetables. Pastoral tasks such as year group promotion and allocation of students to registration groups will also be covered.
This course will cover the routines required to manage the curriculum and pastoral Year End processes in SIMS. This includes the following: - Creating the new academic year. – Creating academic structures in the new academic year. – Allocation of students to bands and classes. – Printing student and staff timetables. - Setting up the new pastoral structure for next year. - Undertaking pastoral promotion routines to update year and class group memberships. - Updating pupil records including adding new admissions and dealing with leavers.
Delegates will have a clear understanding of the year end processes in SIMS and be able to set up their system ready for the new year.
An understanding of the school’s curriculum structure would be helpful. Knowledge of Nova-T is useful but not essential. This course is aimed at staff with a responsibility for preparing SIMS for the new school year.
