Autumn Census 2017 - known issues
The following are known issues appearing in the Autumn Census 2017, along with advice on what to do if you get these errors or queries on your census return.
Query 2010 "Please check: 10%+ pupils' year group different from their age"
There is a known issue with the DfE validation of this rule. This validation can be triggered incorrectly in schools with nursery age pupils, as the DfE coding will count all nursery age pupils that aren't taught in E1 or E2 as not taught in the normal year for their age. If you have this query on your return just ignore it and submit the return. DfE have advised that this query will disappear when the return is loaded to COLLECT unless it is genuine query.
Query 2070 "Please check: pupil's class type and year group incompatible."
If a pupil's National Curriculum year is N then their class type must be N, unless the pupil is not taught in a designated Nursery class. If Nursery pupils are not taught in a designated nursery class (nursery pupils only in the class/not mixed year) then their class type must be O for other which will trigger this query.
This query can be ignored and submitted on the Census return.
Error 1852 - Child's funded hours not provided or out of the range 0 to 15 to two decimal places for pupils aged 2 or 3
This error is triggered for 0 zero funded hours when it should not be. The issue is addressed in Collect so you can authorise and send your Return if it contains this error.
